BDSM Education- BDSM, Christianity and the Bible

Things to Ponder

Disclaimer:  This is not written for or against religion.  Nor is this advocating either side of the coin.  This is here for you to read and ponder over.  Religion will never be agreed upon, but you will ALWAYS find others with similar views and opinions.  Please read this with an open mind and be accepting of others and the choices they make for their life.

In the early centuries Christians used flagellation as part of spiritual discipline (chains, hooks, metal or glass attached to the end of the flails).  Lashings, scourging, penance, Dominance and submission has always been a part of religion.  The New Testament has drilled flagellation, bondage, and pain into those who believe.

No where in the bible can we find God approved or disapproved of BDSM.  We can find who you can have sex with, but not how.  As far as we can determine sex should be joyous and pleasurable.  We do not find any passages condemning BDSM within a marriage.  We do not find any passages condemning BDSM as perverse, unnatural or abnormal.

We all were born with 5 senses, and they were meant to be used.  When people use their sense of what feels good, what is pleasurable, and how to give pleasure to their partner, they are using one of the senses they are born with.  Seems to me anyone opposing people using what was created for them to use, have a very limited knowledge of BDSM, and are limited in keeping an open mind for the joy, pleasure, and love that BDSM can add to a loving relationship.

Scriptures-Draw your own conclusions:

The King James-(KJV )
New Living Translation-(NLT)

(KJV)-Ephesians 5:22 Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord.

(KJV) Ephesians 5:23 For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body.

(KJV) Ephesians 5:25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;

(KJV) Ephesians 5:28 So ought man to love their wives as their own bodies.  He that loveth his wife loveth himself.

(KJV) Ephesians 5:29 For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church:

(NLT) Job 5:17 But consider the joy of those corrected by God! Do not despise the chastening of the Almighty when you sin.18For though he wounds, he also bandages. He strikes, but his hands also heal.

(KJV) Colossians 3:18 Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as it is fit in the Lord.

(KJV) Colossians 3:19 Husbands, love your wives, and be not bitter against them.

(NLT) Colossians 3:22 You slaves must obey your earthly masters in everything you do. Try to please them all the time, not just when they are watching you. Obey them willingly because of your reverent fear of the Lord.

(KJV) 1 Corinthians 11:8 For the man is not of the woman; but the woman of the man.

(KJV) 1 Corinthians 11:9 Neither was the man created for the woman; but the woman for the man.

(KJV) 1 Corinthians 7:4 The wife hath not power of her own body, but the husband: and likewise also the husband hath not power of his own body, but the wife.

(NLT) 1 Peter 3:1 In the same way, you wives must accept the authority of your husbands, even those who refuse to accept the Good News.  Your godly lives will speak to them better than any words.

(NLT) 1 Peter 3:6 For instance, Sarah obeyed her husband, Abraham, when she called him her master.  You are her daughters when you do what is right without fear of what your husbands might do.

(NLT) 1 Timothy 2:11 Women should listen and learn quietly and submissively.12I do not let women teach men or have authority over them. Let them listen quietly.

(NLT) 1 Corinthians 14:34 Women should be silent during the church meetings. It is not proper for them to speak. They should be submissive, just as the law says.

(NLT) Genesis 3:16 Then he said to the woman, "You will bear children with intense pain and suffering. And though your desire will be for your husband, he will be your master."

(NLT) Mark 7:21 For from within, out of a person's heart, come evil thoughts, sexual immorality, theft, murder,22adultery, greed, wickedness, deceit, eagerness for lustful pleasure, envy, slander, pride, and foolishness.23All these vile things come from within; they are what defile you and make you unacceptable to God."

(NTL) Ephesians 5:3 Let there be no sexual immorality, impurity, or greed among you. Such sins have no place among God's people.4Obscene stories, foolish talk, and coarse jokes--these are not for you. Instead, let there be thankfulness to God.5You can be sure that no immoral, impure, or greedy person will inherit the Kingdom of Christ and of God. For a greedy person is really an idolater who worships the things of this world.6Don't be fooled by those who try to excuse these sins, for the terrible anger of God comes upon all those who disobey him.7Don't participate in the things these people do.

(NLT) Romans 1:22 Claiming to be wise, they became utter fools instead.23And instead of worshiping the glorious, ever-living God, they worshiped idols made to look like mere people, or birds and animals and snakes.24So God let them go ahead and do whatever shameful things their hearts desired. As a result, they did vile and degrading things with each other's bodies.25Instead of believing what they knew was the truth about God, they deliberately chose to believe lies. So they worshiped the things God made but not the Creator himself, who is to be praised forever. Amen.26That is why God abandoned them to their shameful desires. Even the women turned against the natural way to have sex and instead indulged in sex with each other.27And the men, instead of having normal sexual relationships with women, burned with lust for each other. Men did shameful things with other men and, as a result, suffered within themselves the penalty they so richly deserved.28When they refused to acknowledge God, he abandoned them to their evil minds and let them do things that should never be done.29Their lives became full of every kind of wickedness, sin, greed, hate, envy, murder, fighting, deception, malicious behavior, and gossip.30They are backstabbers, haters of God, insolent, proud, and boastful. They are forever inventing new ways of sinning and are disobedient to their parents.31They refuse to understand, break their promises, and are heartless and unforgiving.32They are fully aware of God's death penalty for those who do these things, yet they go right ahead and do them anyway. And, worse yet, they encourage others to do them, too.

(NLT) 1 Corinthians 16:14 And everything you do must be done with love.
